Stirring rods

Stirring rods, and the choice matters as much as the machine. The HS 2 spiral is for stiff material that still flows — tile adhesive, jointing compound, adhesive mortar, ready-mixed plaster, screed. The HS 3 handles genuinely heavy, high-viscosity mixes: mortar, concrete, cement, lime plaster. Diameters of 120, 140 and 160 mm match the machine's power; an oversized rod on an underpowered mixer stalls it. Left- and right-hand spirals drive material down or lift it, which is how you keep a bucket from climbing. Combination and double rods suit lighter material where beating air in would spoil the mix.
