Cordless percussion drills

A percussion drill adds a rapid, low-energy hammer action to an ordinary drill/driver, produced by two ridged discs riding over one another. High stroke rate, modest impact per blow. That suits brick, block and soft masonry, where you need to break the material rather than pulverise it, and it keeps everything the drill already did. For concrete, a dedicated hammer drill will do the same job with far less pressure from you. And for aerated concrete, perforated brick, fibre cement or plasterboard, switch the hammer off entirely — impact tears those materials rather than cutting them.
