The XL connector system, and the most interesting thing in the department. A split anchor goes into one part and an expanding bolt into the other; tightening the bolt spreads the anchor inside the timber and pulls the joint closed. That gives a corner joint with very high pull-out resistance that can still be taken apart — beds, tables and rack frames that have to leave the workshop in pieces. Setting out uses the machine's own stops or a pencil line; no jig.
